In spite of being overwhemingly by the Germans, air bombed and shelled by the battleship Schleswig-Holstein Polish soldiers withstood thirteen assaults.<\/p>\n<p>There was an enclave in the area of \u200b\u200bthe Free City of Gda\u0144sk, as well as the Military Transit Depot \u2013 Westerplatte, a monument and symbol before German aggression.
